CityLife

CityLife is a local, AI-powered urban life simulator set in a procedurally generated 3D city.

Create your character and build a life in a living city full of NPCs with their own jobs, homes, routines, personalities, relationships, memories and secrets. Choose an honest path, build a career and family, or enter a world of crime, corruption and underground business. Your actions affect reputation, relationships, police attention and the stories unfolding around you.

— Procedurally generated 3D city with 150+ buildings, including homes, shops, bars, nightclubs, hotels, hospitals, schools, a prison, casinos, alleys, parks, beaches, city hall and courthouses

— Walk the city in free-roam mode, drive vehicles, enter furnished apartments and explore detailed interiors

— NPCs with daily schedules, jobs, families, relationships, memories, trust, fear, attraction, jealousy and hidden corruption

— Dynamic relationship system: friendship, romance, marriage, affairs, cohabitation, family and reputation

— Jobs, university courses, business ownership, property, banking, loans, investments, stocks and casinos

— Crime and underground systems: gangs, drugs, dealers, stolen vehicles, chop shops, police chases, prison, contracts and laundering

— Political corruption, bribery, court cases, judges, police investigators and city elections

— Dynamic weather, news, rumours and autonomous events happening throughout the city

— Adult content and mature themes. Relationships and intimate content develop through trust, consent, attraction, corruption and player choices

— Optional local AI image generation for NPC portraits, scenes and selfies, with SDXL or SD1.5 support, LoRAs and cartoon mode

— Text-only mode available: the game remains fully playable without image generation

— Local saves, no external API keys, subscriptions or Claude CLI required

REQUIREMENTS

— Node.js 18+ for the source version

— Optional: CityLife AI Engine for locally generated portraits and scenes. It uses Python, PyTorch and your own compatible Stable Diffusion model.

HOW TO RUN

Install Node.js 18+
Double-click start.bat
Open http://localhost:3001 in your browser

For local AI images, run ai-engine/install.bat once, add a compatible model to ai-engine/models/, then launch the game normally.

CityLife is a solo indie project in active development. Features, balance and saved-game compatibility may change between updates.
